Formatges Muntanyola has obtained a new recognition as the second best artisan project in the third edition of the “Talento del Queso” contest in Asturias. Formatges Muntanyola reached the final held in Oviedo, where it competed with five other projects from Spain, including two from Asturias, Toledo, Cadiz and Huesca.
This competition is organised by the Cheese Institute and the Oviedo City Council, with the aim of selecting and recognising the best cheese-making projects in the country and making visible the role of professionals in the sector, as well as overcoming technological challenges in order to reach the market with the desired product. The jury valued the quality of the cheeses, the artisanal production and the project for the inclusion of people with disabilities in the labour market promoted by Formatges Muntanyola, and their role in the co-creation of a new scenario in the agri-food sector of the future.
The 6 projects selected during these weeks and that have reached the final, have had 10 minutes to present the cheese project, evaluated by a jury of experts. With this new award, Formatges Muntanyola already has an important track record with awards at major international and national competitions, including World Cheese Award, Lactium (Vic), Concours International (Lyon), Gourmet Quesos (Madrid), and now Talento del Queso (Oviedo).
